Blockquake Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Blockquake ("the app") is a puzzle game made by Ariel Elias ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information is handled when you play.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your scores, settings and saved games stay on your device.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device information to show and measure ads.
- To improve the game, Google Analytics for Firebase records how the app is used (for example which modes are played), without your name or advertising ID. In Europe it only runs if you agree.
- If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report so we can fix the problem. In Europe it is only sent if you agree.
- If you use Google Play Games, your scores appear on its leaderboards with your Play Games name.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
- The app does not use your microphone, camera, contacts, photos or precise location.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your game progress, statistics (such as best score and daily streak), settings, and what you have purchased (for example "Remove Ads" or remaining undos and hints) in your phone's local storage. This information is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules it on your phone (Android asks you to allow notifications first). No push messages are used and nothing is sent to us for it. You can turn it off in the app's Settings or in your phone's settings.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app uses Google AdMob to show banner, full-screen and optional rewarded video ads. To do this, Google may collect and process:
- device identifiers such as the advertising ID (Android) or IDFA (iPhone, only if you allow tracking);
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your approximate location;
- information about ads shown and your interactions with them;
- diagnostic and performance information about the ads.
Google uses this information to deliver, personalize (only with your permission) and measure ads, and to prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Game statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To see how the game is played and make it better, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It records:
- how the app is used: for example which modes are played, how games end, when the tutorial is finished, and when the shop, the daily gift or an ad is opened;
- an identifier for this installation of the app, created by Firebase (it is not your advertising ID, which the app does not give to Google Analytics);
- basic information about the device and app, such as the phone model, operating system, language and app version;
- your general location (such as your country), which Google works out from your IP address.
We use these statistics only to understand and improve the game, not for advertising. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland they are only collected if you agree to it in Google's consent form. See Firebase's privacy information.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or runs into a serious error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report. It contains:
- where in the app's code the problem happened, and what the app was doing just before;
- basic information about the device and app, such as the phone model, operating system, free memory and storage, and app version;
- an identifier for this installation of the app, created by Crashlytics (it is not your advertising ID).
We use crash reports only to find and fix problems. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland they are only sent if you agree to it in Google's consent form (the same choice as game statistics). See Firebase's privacy information.
Leaderboards (Google Play Games)
On Android, if you use Google Play Games, the game sends the scores of your Classic and daily challenge games and your total Aftershock stars to Google Play Games, which shows them on leaderboards with your Play Games profile name. Signing in to Play Games and the leaderboards are run by Google, under Google's privacy policy. The game itself does not read or keep your Play Games profile.
If you email us
The app's "Send feedback" button opens an email to us with the app's version and your phone's model and operating system filled in. If you send it, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you and improve the game.
Your choices
- iPhone: the app asks for permission before your device's advertising identifier can be used for tracking. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads).
- European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: you are asked for consent through Google's consent form, which covers ads, game statistics and crash reports. You can change your choices at any time from Settings → Privacy choices in the app.
- US states with privacy laws (such as California): you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising from Settings → Privacy choices in the app.
- Remove Ads: the optional "Remove Ads" purchase turns off banner and full-screen ads. Rewarded videos then only play when you choose to watch one.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. We receive only a confirmation of what was bought, which the app stores on your device so it can unlock the item.
Children
The app is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
We do not keep any personal information on our own servers. Information collected by Google is retained according to Google's policies; game statistics are kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days. To remove the information stored by the app, delete the app from your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
